Brussels: Conference and Study Visit of Wood Industry and Forestry Representatives from the SE European Countries

Following last year’s successful edition, a conference entitled: Investments in Wood-Processing and Forestry in South East Europe will be held in Brussels on July 12th-13th 2016, in the organization of the Croatian Wood Cluster and main European confederation for the wood woodworking industry CEI-Bois and with the support of Croatian MEP Marijana Petir. Among wood processing and forestry companies, the conference will be attended by the representatives of European professional associations, development banks, lobbysts and sectoral trade fairs. In Brussels will also come numerous scientific and educational institutions, sector analysts, representatives of local and regional self-government units and all others interested in better positioning the forest and wood issues in the European policies. The objectives of this conference and business visit include familiarization with the work of the EU institutions and European trade associations, presentation of good business practices and investment projects with the possibility to establish cooperation with potential partners. Of course, the main interest of the participants refers to exploring the possibilities of attracting and greater use of the EU funds. The overall thematic emphasis will cover the following areas: availability of raw material, wood constructions, innovative forestry, bioenergy and cogeneration, fairs and international marketing, design and creative competition, inter-sectoral cooperation, financing issues and sectoral policy making.
