The development of the economy in the 21st century is based on new technologies. The Internet has changed the way all participants in business and social processes act, and continuous online communication allows users to communicate quickly in real time.

In this context, the importance of social networks is increasing almost in proportion to their enormous numbers. The speed at which information is spread through social networks is almost impossible to reach by traditional media channels.

Social networks have become a new tool in the business world. For the Croatian Wood Cluster social networks primarily represent a tool aimed at two target groups:

  • The general population, with the basic aim of popularizing wood and raising awareness of the importance of the wood sector in Croatian society
  • Business partners, with the emphasis on foreign contacts Social networks give the Cluster Secretariat a good platform for quick contacts with existing members and partners, as well as an easy way to highlight information about possible collaboration on research projects, primarily for probing interests in participating in various EU and global projects.

The Croatian Wood Cluster has open profiles on the three most widespread social networks: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
