ANNOUNCEMENT: 14th Wood-Technology Conference to be held in Opatija (Croatia)! Bioeconomy and Forest-based Industries in the Focus of the Programme

Wood-Technology Conference is the central annual gathering of forest-based industries in Croatia and South-East European region. The Conference will take place on the 5th and 6th of June and for over 14 years it has been held in the Kvarner resort City of Opatija (Croatia) in Grand Hotel 4 opatijska cvijeta.

Traditionally, more than 250 representatives of the forestry, wood-processing industry, energy sector, NGOs, government authorities, scientific-research community, investors, designers, technology suppliers etc. will be present in Opatija during this two-day event to discuss sectoral policies and trends on the Croatian, South-East European and EU level. Many companies, institutions and associations from the forest-based industries already confirmed their participation, and support from the important EU policy makers and associations is also expected.

On the margins of the Conference pre- and post-conference activities will be organized, such as round tables and study visits to nearby wood-processing companies. On the 6th and 7th of June the Project Meeting of FORESDA (Interreg Danube) consortium will be held. It is the second face to face meeting of the project consortium after the successful kick off meeting in Ljubljana. Previous tasks of the project and further steps will be analyzed and discussed.
