The three conferences were full of contents and well visited. They included the topics on biomass and renewable energy sources serving local communities, as well as the use of wood in construction and the future of forestry and wood processing sector.

The conferences fully met the expectations, and the topic of biomass was particularly interesting, primarily because of the Croatian and European energy policies. The public showed a strong interest in this topic, which is very heterogeneous as it covers a wide range of renewable energy sources, from forestry and wood pellets, to the most complex tri-generation energy plants.

The workshops were very well-attended. It was especially satisfactory to witness a detailed exchange of views among the participants of “Triple Helix” – the university sector, the institutions and the economy, all of whom showed a great interest in the role of forests in the use of renewable energy sources, as well as in
the issue of greater use of wood in construction.

Experts from Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia participated at the professional meetings, together with the representatives of companies from Turkey and Russia, who showed a great interest in investing in production facilities for wood processing in Croatia.
