9th SAWMILL CONGRESS IN SLAVONSKI BROD: Applications are Open!

The primary processing sector continues its successful tradition of central sectoral event in Southeast Europe. The ninth time in Slavonski Brod representatives of the sawmill industry, forestry, leading technology suppliers and other stakeholders will gather at the Sawmill Congress, which will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Day earlier, September 25, a study visit to local sawmills in Slavonia will be organized. Developments in the international wood product markets, European sectoral policies, as well as domestic issues of availability and distribution of raw material, instalation of new drying technology and tooling, as well as pellet production and cogeneration are important for this year’s programme. Lack of working force will be also emphasized, since it is one of the biggest problem and the challenge of this industry. The Congress will, through presentations and debates, provide a cross-section of the sectoral events over the past year and present new directions in this growing industry. More than 250 participants are expected, as well as and important support from relevant ministries and other domestic and EU institutions.
